Why I think the Club World Cup is a waste of time

We recently saw Manchester United become “world champions” by winning the FIFA Club World Cup. I’d like to congratulate them on achieving this feat, but with all due respect does the winner of this tournament really achieve much? Does the Club World Cup really have the kudos as the name suggests? I hardly think so.

Australia is serious, but is the world serious about Australia?

Recently I was elated by the news that the Australian government is injecting $45.6 million for Australia’s bid for World Cup 2018. This is all well and good, and really shows that we are serious about our bid, but it is the world that will vote, the different confederations will decide who will host in 2018. This is a key area that needs to be looked at because it is more than likely that the world is not taking Australia’s bid seriously.
